Built-in Hough Transform and Custom Hough Transform
This project successfully implemented and analyzed the Hough Transform for line detection using both MATLAB’s built-in functions and a custom algorithm. The built-in approach provided efficient and accurate results, while the custom implementation allowed a deeper understanding of the mathematical foundations and computational challenges(Gonzalez and Woods, 2018). The comparison between the two methods highlighted trade-offs in accuracy, computational complexity, and flexibility. The results confirmed the effectiveness of the Hough Transform in detecting parallel lines, demonstrating its significance in real-world applications such as image analysis, computer vision, and edge detection.
