The Hodgkin-Huxley model describes how the transmembrane potential of a neuron changes in response to the movement of sodium (Na+) and potassium (K+) ions. The ionic currents across the cell membrane are modeled as electrical currents through a set of nonlinear differential equations. This interactive simulation investigates how the initial conditions and ion conductance affects the generation and propagation of the action potential in a cell.
