Is it possible to play Flash demos in the MATLAB Web browser if Mozilla Firefox is not installed and/or the Flash plug-in is not configured?

I am trying to run Simulink and SimBiology demos from the links in the
About My Trial
window that appears on the screen when I open my Trial version of MATLAB. Some of the video links open up another Flash Player window. However this window is blank, and there is no video playing. It does not appear that the system is trying to install a plug-in either, because the pointer icon does not change to an hourglass shape, and neither is there any perceptible activity occurring.

This enhancement has been incorporated in Release 2008b (R2008b). For previous product releases, read below for any possible workarounds:
This issue appears to occur because the required Flash plug-ins are not installed/configured for the MATLAB Web browser.
Since the MATLAB Web browser has an underlying Mozilla engine, it can use the underlying plug-ins for Firefox and associate these plug-ins with the system's Mozilla engine.
Hence, one possible workaround is to install Mozilla Firefox and ensure that the same demo videos are running as expected (if plug-ins are not installed/configured, Firefox will prompt you to do so). In most cases, this should resolve the issue.
Note: A useful way of verifying whether you have the Flash plug-in installed for Firefox is by looking for the files NPSWF32.dll and flashplayer.xpt in the \Mozilla Firefox\plugins directory.
