How can I find the directory location of the MCR installation on the client machine?

I would like to find the location where the MCR is installed (i.e. MCRROOT) on the client machine so that I can add that to the PATH variable.

Is there a way to find this other than looking for some of the DLL files?

The ability to find the directory location of the MCR (MATLAB Runtime Component) installation is not available in MATLAB Compiler 4.x(R14 and above)

There are no workarounds.
