Is there a free version of Matlab students can use since they're working from home this all semester due to COVID19?

I'm a Lab supervisor for Purdue University Northwest and was just wondering if there is a free version of Matlab students can use at home since they're working remotely due to covid19?
Thank you.

You should contact support instead of posting on a public forum.
You could also check if GNU Octave is suited to your needs. It has many downsides (among which worse support, fewer functions, and worse performance (especially on windows)), but it is mostly free.
I would suggest talking to Mathworks directly to see what is possible for your budget. I personally consider the money I pay for my copy of Matlab money well spent. (to put it in perspective: I develop my code on Matlab, even if I intend to run it on Octave)

I reached out to Sean Albano informing him that everyone at Purdue University has unlimited access to all products through a Campus-Wide License. Please check if your school has a MATLAB campus license here: https://www.mathworks.com/academia/tah-support-program/eligibility.html
