Compound Wound DC Motor - long-shunt short-shunt
Show older comments
Hi there,
I am new to simulink, and simulations in general, so please bear with me. I have watched the following webinars:
1. http://www.mathworks.com/videos/modeling-a-dc-motor-68852.html
2. http://www.mathworks.com/videos/estimating-parameters-of-a-dc-motor-68856.html
I was able to replicate the general DC Model as shown in (webinar1), but as far as I can tell this is a series wound or generic dc motor.
My goal is to model a compound wound DC motor and show the Torque, Voltage, angular velocity diagrams for both short shunt and long shunt DC motors, under load.
Is it possible to construct a dc motor within simulink, with:
simscape - Magnetic - Magnetic elements - Reluctance force actuator?
Are there any examples somewhere that I could study?
thank you in advance, Jacob Karapatakis

It is also possible to use multidomain simulation in Simscape Electrical. For more insights check the Faulted PMSM example.
