My ten-year-old son is very interested in the four color theorem. I told him that according to it he can color any contour. All he needs to do it is find the appropriate software. It turns out it's not easy. He asks about it all the time. I found this article and would like to replace the map of the USA with a vector graphics file e.g. this. How to do that? I've never used Matlab. Unfortunately, I can start learning it not until the next year. Now I'm only interested in the script from this article and replacing the US map with an another vector file. There is a script, but I don't know what to do with it. I understand that the problem is not precisely formulated. However, maybe there is someone who would like to help us. We'd be very grateful. Every tip is for us like gold.

I read your .dxf and got this
But don't understand how it's connected with USA map? Can you explain more? Maybe simple drawing or sketch?

Thanks for the answer. The problem is solved. Instead of DXF I imported SHP.
