Computer Vision: Object Detection - Blob Analysis on a Video file

Hello,

I am trying to use blob analysis to detect and count the number of moving objects in a frame from an video of coloured objects moving past the camera. I can not understand how to apply blob anaysis on a video, I have done the tutorial ( link below) several times over and understand how to apply this to an image and I understand how to upload and view video in matlab but I can not join the two together to get the desired result. If anyone has any pointers it would be veyr much appreciated.
