Poor Resolution of Pdf

Hi

I am importing a pdf file I save in matlab into inkscape. I am truggling to import the pdf file with highresolution. I used the print -painters -dpdf -r300 test.pdf command to increase the dpi resolution while saving the file in matlab, it helped but in the process it leaves behind missing data from the plot in the form of hortizonal white lines (see attached). Any suggestions ?
