Why isn't my shooting method running?

Ive attached the functions that my shooting method m file is using. Im trying to use ode solver to solve the two point boundary problem. Then use the answers from ode solver to plug them into the secant method. I keep getting "NAN"

im tryin to subsitute a value. But im not sure if matlab is having trouble converting it from sybolic. I looked it up and i found one way around it by using vpa comman but it still does not work. for the input im just plugging in
