How to change the side of the label on the Y-Axis of a plot?

I've created a plot where the line goes from negative to positive x-values. If I put the Y-Axis in the middle of the plot (through x = 0), the Y-Labels and the line overlap. How can I change the side of the labels from right to left?

I did not find a setting where you can specifically set the location of the lables. Noticeably, the location of the lables changes with the position of the y-axis.
If the y-axis is more into the left the lables are put on the left side of the axis. Similarly, if the y-axis is more into the right side the lables are put onto the right. It seems that the location of the lables is set internally without giving the option to change it!
