Does R2017a license manager work with R2018b version?

I have a R2017a license manager install in the server, and I am planning to install R2018b in the users Pc's. Can I just update de license.dat file of a R2018b in the R2017a license manager, or do I have to update the R2018b license manager in the server?

You need to update the license manager as well. I have not checked if the license manager changed in R2018b, but I recall that it changed in R2018a.
