I have downloaded the file from the mat works web page for Linux. And always when I try to install it I get this error in the Terminal when I run sudo ./install in the same directory as i have extracted it.
this is the error,
./install: 1: exec: /home/murali/Downloads/matlab/bin/unknown/install_unix: not found
though when I look into the files, by command $ls, Im able to see install file. Thanks a bunch

Hi,
MATLAB R2018a version supports only up to UBUNTU OS 17.10. In the error, the system architecture (it should correspond to either 32bit/64bit) is reported "unknown". Make sure that the MATLAB installer matches your system architecture.
Note: 32 bit Linux has not been supported for the last several releases.
