The R2018a example in the documentation only briefly touches on modifying the compilation commands. Is there a more extensive guide?
Run the following command on MATLAB R2018a to view the example:

There are different tools that can be used for HDL Compilation.
The example mentions "ModelSim" (by Mentor Graphics) and "Incisive" (by Cadence).
Whichever is being used, reach out to the corresponding company for tips on modifying the HDL Compilation commands.
