How can I get the Matlab prompt?

Just downloaded Matlab Release18. It opens but I don't get the >> prompt. What could be the problem?

MATLAB Release 18 was R2007b. Are you sure you meant that, and not R2018a ?

If you are using R2018a then which operating system are you using?
