What is the best denoising method for speckle noise in ultrasound scans?

I am working on image processing of ultrasound scans of goiter.To denoise the image which filtering method would provide the best results? Ultrasound images have speckle noise and the denoising methods I found are median filter,wiener filter,lee filter and BayesShrink.

I always start with a PubMed search, this one being on ultrasound imaging noise (link).

These authors A New Feature-Enhanced Speckle Reduction Method Based on Multiscale Analysis for Ultrasound B-Mode Imaging IEEE Trans Biomed Eng. 2016 Jun;63(6):1178-91 (link) claim their method is better than most and equivalent to the Bayesian nonlocal means filter.

The goal on thyroid imaging is to accurately detect nodules, so I would emphasize that in your search, and use accurate nodule detection to determine the ‘best’ method.
