How do I fix my license expiration?

I am an NC State student who needs MATLAB for one of my classes. I had no problem installing the program and getting my license through State, but a couple days later my MATLAB would display this message:
----------------------------------------------------
Your MATLAB license will expire in 52 days.
Please contact your system administrator or
MathWorks to renew this license
----------------------------------------------------
Academic Student License -- for use by students to meet course requirements and perform academic research at degree granting institutions only.
If anyone knows how to fix this I would greatly appreciate it!

As the message suggests, please contact your system administrator. In this case I guess that role probably would be played by NC State's IT department (from whom you obtained the license originally, correct?)

Your university has given you access to a Total Academic Headcount (TAC) license, or possibly to a MOOC license (I have not seen the output of those to see exactly how they show up.)
MOOC licenses are always time-limited. As I have not seen one, I do not know the wording of any expiration / renewal messages they have.
Total Academic Headcount (TAC) licenses are administered by your IT people with regards to expiration dates and which products are covered. One of the options for TAC licenses is that Universities can authorize Mathworks to hand out individual license files automatically to anyone who registers with an email address from a specified domain (that is, with a university email address.) However, the expiration / renewal is still the responsibility of the university IT group.
Sometimes messages like what you see are totally harmless, reflecting that the institution pays year by year and that the old license will continue to be used right until the end of its time, after which the new license will be picked up -- assuming, that is, that the institution has obtained a new license and put it into place.
However, given that the IT people do not appear to be aware of how the licenses work, I would be concerned about the possibility that someone has dropped the ball, that arrangements have not been made for the license renewal.
My understanding is that if you visit http://www.mathworks.com/mwaccount then you should be able to see an indication of who your IT administrator is for Mathworks license purposes. I do not have one of those licenses so I do not know exactly where to look on the page I indicated.
