Average of Pearson correlation coefficient values?

3 views (last 30 days)
Let I have different Pearson correlation coefficient values like,
r= [.50 .67 .55 .60 .80 .70 .51 .63].
is this meaningful to discuss the average of these correlation coefficients? I mean that discussing the average Pearson correlation coefficient,
r=0.62?
is meaningful or not? Thanks

no it is not meaningfull. if r is found out using pearson then try to find spearsman for 2 reasons 1. for confirmation 2. what type of correlation co-efficient is suitable to your research for example i studied many published papers regarding air pollution , in such paper author always go for spearsman
