Why MATLAB 2016b does not creat shortcut during the installation procedure and after installation, why windows does not recognize any assossiated formats (.m or .mat or .fig)?

I've recently installed the new version of MATLAB, R2016b. It does not creat any shortcut in desktop. In addition, I can't open any .m file from the windows enviroment because windows does not recognize .m files as a MATLAB file... I have the same problem about .mat , .fig and other matlab files. I tried to creat shortcut manualy to solve the first problem. But still I can't creat a start menu shortcuts and... Furthermore, as I said, matlab files are able to be opened only from MATLAB enviroment(current folder) and not open from outside of matlab. I didn't had such problems in MATLAB 2015b. It would creat desktop and start menu shortcuts AUTOMATICALLY and I also used to open any matlab file from windows. It automaticlly recognized any .fig or .m file and there was not any problem...
May someone help me about this annoying problem about MATLAB 2016b?
I use Windows 10 x64.

Why the installer didn't offer to make shortcuts for you, and why you can't make them manually, is probably a question for tech support. As for the file extensions, usually, MS Office will take possession of the .mat extension (see here) and maybe others, after Office is installed. So possibly what you are encountering is because you are now working on a new machine or a machine on which Office has been newly installed. In any case, as the link I gave you explains, file extension associations are easy to over-ride from the Windows Control Panel.
