I recently got a new computer, which means thats the Host ID is different, and thus I got an error when I tried to sign into Matlab on my new computer. While trying to trouble shoot, I deleted my license file. Is there another way to obtain the license file?

Visit https://www.mathworks.com/licensecenter and click on Activations and Installations. Choose the license and then on that page there is Advanced Options which will allow you to download the license file.
If you have deleted the license file and you have an internet connection then generally starting up MATLAB asks you to activate and the activation procedure will download the license file.

When I install a new version (twice a year), it just asks me for my web site login name and password, and that does it all. I never have to mess with license files directly. Didn't that work for you? Anyway, did you know that the Mathworks offers free installation and licensing help for everyone, even student suites? Call them.
