Need guidance for crack detection in glass bottles

Hi: I am working on a project in which we need to detect cracks in glass bottles. Typically there are ring cracks (on the neck and mouth) and wall cracks. I am not worried at this stage about the cracks in the bottom. I also don't care about the precise location and dimension of the crack. What needs to to be done is to simply generate an alarm for the bottles with crack. The bottle under consideration is a clear glass bottle. Any suggestions what is the best way to accomplish this?
