Hey,
Check this MATLAB Answer which talks about similar issue you posted: MATLab2014A isn't formatted right on my Mac. - MATLAB Answers - MATLAB Central (mathworks.com)
Also, I would recommend if possible to upgrade to latest version of MATLAB. And if you font size issues, you can adjust it in preferences.
Hope it helps!

R2014a does not run on that recent of the Mac OS. It is not supported there, and in fact, I am surprised it even comes that close to running.
What should you do? Use an older version of the Mac OS. Or upgrade your MATLAB release. My guess is the simpler solution would be to upgrade MATLAB, and as much as the old song says the best things in life are free, not everything good will be free.
