How to find something like variable explorer on PLUS on HYSYS

I currently know how to connect MATLAB and HYSYS but I can't find anything in HYSYS that I can see variables like variable explorer in PLUS. Where can I find it?

Hi,
I don't know if you have figured already out that problem. You might look for inside on:
Customize>Macro Language Editor>Browse Object (Icon)>Data Type
You could use those routes in Matlab with ActiveX server.
Kind regards,
Rams

In Aspen HYSYS, you can view and interact with variables using the "Data Browser" or "Variable Explorer" feature. This feature allows you to browse, display, and manipulate variables within your HYSYS simulation. Here's how to access it:
  1. Open Your HYSYS Simulation:
  • Launch Aspen HYSYS and open the simulation you want to work on.
  1. Access the Data Browser:
  • To access the Data Browser, you can go to the "View" menu at the top of the HYSYS window.
  • In the "View" menu, select "Data Browser." This will open the Data Browser panel.
  1. Explore Variables:
  • In the Data Browser, you can explore and interact with various categories of variables, including:
  • "Cases" (for different simulation cases)
  • "Stream Results" (for stream-related variables)
  • "Unit Results" (for unit operation-related variables)
  • "Reports" (for generated reports)
  • Expand these categories to see the available variables and their values.
  1. Variable Manipulation:
  • You can click on variables to view their values, edit them, or link them to other parts of your simulation.
  • You can also perform calculations or create custom variables using the Data Browser.
  1. Variable Explorer Alternative:
  • While Aspen HYSYS may not have a dedicated "Variable Explorer" like MATLAB, the Data Browser serves a similar purpose by allowing you to interact with simulation variables.
  1. Custom Reports:
  • If you want to create custom reports for specific variables or results, you can do so through the "Reports" section of the Data Browser.
Please note that the exact appearance and functionality of the Data Browser may vary slightly depending on the version of Aspen HYSYS you are using. However, the general concept of exploring and manipulating variables within the Data Browser remains consistent across versions.

Using the Shortcut Menu:
  • Right-click anywhere within the Flowsheet window or on any object (stream, unit, etc.).
  • Look for an option called "Show Data Browser" or "View Data Browser" in the context menu. Select it to open the Data Browser directly.
2. Using the Customization Window:
  • If the Data Browser option is still not visible, you might need to add it manually:
  • Go to Tools > Customize.
  • In the "Commands" tab, find the "View" category.
  • Drag the "Data Browser" command from the list to either the toolbar or a menu of your choice.
  • Click "Close" to save the customization.
3. Using the Object Navigator:
  • While not exactly the Data Browser, the Object Navigator can provide similar functionality:
  • Go to View > Object Navigator.
  • Right-click on any object in the Object Navigator tree.
  • Select "View Properties" or "Edit Properties" to view and modify object data.
4. Using the Databook:
  • Access the Databook by going to View > Databook.
  • While it doesn't display data as dynamically as the Data Browser, it allows you to view and edit stream and unit data in a tabular format.
5. Utilizing Search:
  • If you're still having trouble, try using the integrated search function:
  • Press Ctrl+F or go to Edit > Find.
  • Type "Data Browser" or "View Data Browser" in the search bar.
  • If the option exists, it should appear in the search results.
Additional Considerations:
  • Version-Specific Features: It's possible that the Data Browser might have a different name or location in HYSYS V14.0 compared to newer versions. Consult the software's help documentation or online resources for more specific guidance.
  • Customization: If you're working in a company or shared environment, the HYSYS interface might have been customized, potentially affecting the visibility of certain features. Check with your system administrator or IT support for clarification.

Thank you for your answer
I found Object Navigator, Databasebook, but I didn't find Data Browser
I'll change the question and do it again. I want to find something like a call code in PLUS's Variable Explorer on HYSYS
