How to model crankshaft mechanism of mechatronics system on Simulink?

7 views (last 30 days)
The parameters are as listed below
l=0.3m, R2=0.1m, R1=0.05m, g=9.81m/s2, M1=1 kg, B=0.001 N/m/s, Jm= 0.000998 kgm2/s2, J1= 0.0012 kgm2/s2, J2= 0.0185 kgm2/s2, Bm=B1=B2=0.0001 Ns, L=0.01 mH, R=2 , Kb=0.5 V/s, Km=0.5 N/A.
Omit moment of inertia of conrod.
a) How can I calculate the relationship between angular position q of the crank and slider position x?
b) How can I Calculate the necessary voltage profile to achieve constant angular speed for ω = 60 rpm? How can I plot the torque profiles with the given parameters?
c) How can I plot the equivalent moment of inertia?
Thank you in advance

Hi Serdar,
You can use Simscape Multibody to define joints and constraints to your model. Calculating the relationship between angular position q of the crank and slider position x and the necessary voltage profile to achieve constant angular speed are formula-based questions. You can setup the initial conditions and parameters after calculating necessary relations and values and you should be able to plot the torque profiles and moment of intertia using the scope block in Simulink.
