I have an SCR/thyristor datasheet that I want to use to model and SCR/thyristor in Simscape Electrical. What is the best component to use to accurately model it?

One option is to use the 'Thyristor (Piecewise Linear)' block. This will give a fast-running model and will allow parameterization data from the datasheet for the device. More information on the 'Thyristor (Piecewise Linear)' can be found by referencing the link below:
A second option is to use the 'Thyristor' block. This block will allow parameterization based on the datasheet for the device as well. It will also allow for modeling the gate triggering circuit. It provides two ways of modeling a thyristor:
