Depending on your MATLAB release, there are several ways to access documentation, both online and offline, to ensure you have the right resources for your version:
Online Documentation Archive (Past 4 Years of Releases):
The online documentation from the past 4 years can be found in two ways:
  1. Go to the Archived MathWorks Documentation. Click the desired release and locate the "Release Notes" button (location of this button will vary depending on release)
  2. Navigate to URL https://www.mathworks.com/help/releases/R20XXx/relnotes/index.html, where "R20XXx" is replaced with the desired release from the past 4 years (ex. R2023a).
We also offer the possibility to download PDF documentation for all MathWorks products from the same archive so you can keep it for future reference. See this answer for more information.
Offline Documentation:
Additionally, each installation of MATLAB comes with release-specific offline documentation. This is particularly relevant for releases older than 4 years that are no longer available through our online doc archive. For more information on accessing offline documentation from MATLAB, see:
Request Documentation via Technical Support:
If you would like documentation for a release of MATLAB more than 4 years old and you have a current subscription to MathWorks Software Maintenance Service (SMS), you can reach out to MathWorks Technical Support to request it.
