I'm an employee and use Matlab in my work computer. Is that possible to "take credit of this" and then obtain some kind of free license to install Matlab in my home computer for personal use?

Yes, you can. If you have the standard, professional license, you can install it on your home computer. You can have it installed on a total of up to 4 computers. I know, I do it. I have a home computer and it's installed there and I didn't pay for it - it's included in the license my company paid for. Mathworks is totally cool with this - it's allowed, and no problem. I've been doing it for many years. It's almost becoming essential as the world transitions to a more "hybrid" work environment.

Depends on what you mean by "take back".
- If your former company goes into the license manager web site and deactivates the installation of MATLAB on your computer, then you will immediately lose the ability to run it.
- If the company didn't deactivate your license, then it will still run but legally you should not use it, since presumably the company does not want you using it anymore, and the company owns and paid for the license, not you. Basically, the Mathworks does not know your employment status with your company and would not automatically know if you left the company or are still working there. Your home installation would continue to run until the annual license renewal term comes up and presumably your license manager at your company would realize that one of the licenses up for renewal (your home installation) should not be paid for and renewed. So soon after that your home installation would not run anymore. I don't know the date for the renewal, but for our company it was around March or April.
You can buy your own home license fairly cheaply, currently $149 (not been raised in years, see link in @Jan's answer). You can get a temporary free license for evaluation but it would last only 30 days.

Thank you all for the responses! And of course, definitely they shouldn't use it when they leave the company. The own home license is a solid alternative!

Not for free, but your employer can buy a license for you. (EDITED: See Image Analysts answer!)
There is a home use version also, but it is neither for free nor thought to do your work with it. Therefore it is a small set of toolboxes only: https://www.mathworks.com/products/matlab-home.html
