Thermal conserving ports on Simscape Tank (G-TL)

2 views (last 30 days)
Hello,
I am using the Tank (G-TL) block under Fluid Network interfaces in Simscape. I have a volume in the tank that is one part liquid and another part gas. There are two ports H1 & H2 which are thermal conserving ports. From the documentation it seems like I can only use these ports to exchange heat with the environment, i.e, I cannot use these ports to produce a heat exchange between the two volumes.
Am I understanding this correctly? Also, I am able to connect the two thermal conserving ports with a resistor so shouldn't this allow heat exchange between the two volumes?
