Software Maintenance Service Renewal

Our Software Maintenance Service is due to expire. I've got a usual (every year) bill to continue Software Maintenance Service for matlab and all toolboxes. I know (based on my university experience) that if we dont pay it now, we are still able to use the program but without support and updates (that part is clear). but if one day we decide to update matlab and toolboxes, should we buy everything again for the full price or we can activate Software Maintenance Service with a certain delay?
E.g. Matlab Maintenance Service will expire 1st of March 2014: to keep maintenance service till 1st of March 2015 we have to pay XXX. if we dont do it now and ask mathworks to activate Software Maintenance Service, for instance, from 1st of August 2014, should we pay XXX (for the period August 2014 - August 2015, getting all upddates etc.) or we have to buy matlab and all toolboxes again?

Hello Alexander, you can certainly re-activate SMS. You will have to pay pro-rated SMS fees for the time SMS has been expired. Please contact your local Sales representative for more detailed information.

I do not know how it is handled for the Academic licenses. For the Professional licenses:
- if you have missed more than 3 years of SMS then you are not eligible for reinstatement and need to repurchase
- otherwise you need to pay all the SMS that you missed, no discount for "not actually using it".

Is this still the case (and also true for home)? And where can I find the pricing for SMS for a home license?
