In valves, does the S-port directly control the spool in SimHydraulics v1.11 (R2012b)?

Let's say, I am using 4-way Directional Valve. Does the S-port directly control the spool or does it control a force which in-turn controls the spool?

For the 4-way Directional Valve, the signal on the S--port directly controls the flow direction.

Hi Katta,
The "S" port for both the 4-way directional valve and the 2-way directional valve sets the control member displacement. If you are having trouble setting up the 2-way directional valve, I would recommend taking a look at this example from our documentation:
