Why does modal dialog using QUESTDLG not work when I build a COM object in MATLAB Builder for COM 1.1.2 (R14SP1)?

I am using COMTOOL to build a COM object. When I use a non-modal dialog the application works as expected. However, when I use a modal dialog, the dialog gets rendered and then disappears.

This bug has been fixed in Release 14 Service Pack 3 (R14SP3). For previous product releases, read below for any possible workarounds:

There is a bug in MATLAB Builder for COM 1.1.2 (R14SP1) in the way that modal dialogs do not show up while building a COM based application.

There are no workarounds.
