How do I start the Synchronous Machine from rest in SimPowerSystems?

I would like to start the Synchronous Machine at zero speed. I have not been able to achieve this, regardless of initial conditions and whether or not a load flow was performed. Is there a way to start the machine from rest?

In order to accomplish this, you have to utilize a starting circuitry to start the machine and then connect it to the rest of the network. An example of starting the Synchronous Machine can be found in the following link:
