Why does the MATLAB installer exit out of the installation after I enter my name and company name when installing on Windows?

Please verify that you have entered your name and company name correctly and that they only contain alpha-numeric characters. The MATLAB installer will only accept alpha-numeric characters.
Also:
1. Check that you have administrative permissions for the installation to proceed properly.
2. Make sure autoexec.bat is not write protected. If it is write protected, MATLAB cannot be added to the system path (autoexec.bat) causing the installation to fail. This can occur on Windows 95/98/ME.
If this problem continues to occur, please send an e-mail to support@mathworks.com with the following information:
1. your license number
2. the PLP and license file you are using
3. and let us know if this problem occurs on other Windows machines
