Can not open VRealm builder in matlab simulink 3D animation toolbox: "The system can not find the path specified."

5 views (last 30 days)
Hi, I am currently working though the tutorials from the mathworks web site, on the simulink 3D animation add on found here: http://www.mathworks.com/products/3d-animation/demos.html I am having trouble with the step in the part two video where I open the Vrealm builder for the first time.
When I double click on the VR sink simulink block and click new as instructed all I get is a command prompt window with the message:
“The system can not find the path specified.”
I am running matlab R2101a student version.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Paul

I don't have much experience with this, but it seems like a generic installation error. What happens when you execute "vrinstall -check editor"?
If this doesn't help, type "dbstop if all error" at the command prompt and execute the same action again. See if you can find the line# where the error is coming from.

Thanks for the response,
I tried both your suggestions but they didn't shed much light on the situation.
Typing vrinstall -check editor resulted in the following response:
VRML editor: installed
Typing: dbstop if all error
before the action failed to result in any response.
Any more ideas?

Did you actually buy a license of Simulink 3D Animation? If you did not, what might be happening is that you can run the demos, but cannot create your own scenese without the license.
