How do I input a sample-based signal into the Multipath Rayleigh Fading Channel block in the Communications Blockset 4.0 (R2008a)?

Previous versions of the Multipath Rayleigh Fading Channel block allowed me to use a sample-based signal for its input. However, this no longer seems to be the case. I prefer to use sample-based signals

It is possible to generate a sample-based signal, feed it into a Frame conversion block to convert it to a frame-based signal, and then feed that resulting signal to the input of the Multipath Rayleigh Fading Channel block.
Note that the Frame conversion block is located in the Signal Processing Blockset, while the Multipath Rayleigh Fading Channel block is located in the Communications Blockset.
