Why do I receive a message "Matlabsever.exe --Application Error" when I start my PC after it has been shut down?
Whenever I start my Windows 2000 machine after it has been shut down, I see the following error message:
Matlabserver.exe --Application Error
The instruction at "0x6c672e77" referenced memory at "0x6c672e77". The Memory could not be "read".
Click on OK to terminate the program
Click on CANCEL to debug the program
I don't see this message pop up when I restart my machine again. I use MATLAB 6.1 (R12.1).

This error may be caused by the MATLAB Web Server service. You can disable the MATLAB Web Server service under Windows NT and Windows 2000 by doing the following:
1. Go to Start->Settings->Control Panel->Administrative tools->Component Services.
2. In the Services(local), find "MATLAB Server".
3. Right click on it and select "Stop".
This will fix the problem.
