How to apply wavelet transform on DTMF signal

I have a file containing distorted DTMF signal(as a txt) So how to

1) Apply wavelet transform for the given signal. with using different wavelet families, and how to compare compare the results obtained for STFT.

2) Try to propose frequency charasteristics of filter that would minimize the distorions determined ?
