Hi, I have a requirement where in I need to simulate a radar in real time. I am yet to start with Phased array system toolbox (waiting for evaluation license), but I had few questions about the this toolbox. It will be really helpful if you can answer them. 1. Does the tool box supports real time simulation 2. Support for the environment. What environmental factors it takes into consideration. 3. Support for fluctuating RCS. 4. Support for tracking the targets. 5. Support for transponder and skin modes.
I will start with the study once I get my hands on the toolbox but till then any inputs here will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Anunay,
1. What do you mean by real time simulation? If you mean supporting streaming data, then the answer is yes. 2. Currently there is free space propagation, Barrage jammer model and a constang gamma clutter model. Is there any specific environmental factor you want to model? 3. The Swerling model is suported. 4. You can estimate range/Doppler/angle with the toolbox. But if you are asking the tracking algorithms such as Kalman filter, then it currently does not have any. 5. The toolbox don't support these yet. Could you comment where you need those capabilities?
Thanks and HTH.

Thanks for the reply. By real time I meant that I want to simulate it at 60 Hz so the person using the simulation should get the results in the real time, without any lag, just as if he was using an actual device.
Talking of the environment factors, we are interested in effects of * Temperature * Rain * Fog on the transmitting radio waves.
With tracking I meant Radar tracking where radar goes into the lock mode to track a flying vehicle.
My apologies for not stating my requirements clearly, the first time.
We are working on POC for Radar Simulation.

Thanks, this is helpful. It doesn't do the rain/fog or tracking yet. Whether it can keep up 60Hz in MATLAB depends on many things, such as operation needed, memory amount available, etc. So it is difficult to give a definite answer.
