How to remove yellowing from an image

I am working on a project in college and am experiencing difficulties in selecting the pixels that are yellow from the rest of the image and then removing the yellow from them. It is an image restoration project. The image I am working on is: http://i47.tinypic.com/11c3wvs.jpg Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

i have worked in a similar BG. but was only able to completely remove blue color. not able to balance the colors.
