MCR 7.15 Installer fails to install VCREDIST and halts installation

1 view (last 30 days)
I have compiled a script as an .exe using 2011a and sent it out to a few people along with the 7.15 MCRInstaller.
This worked fine for most everyone, except one user who has the following error when trying to run the MCRInstaller:
"The files for installation requirement VCREDIST_V90_X86 could not be found. The installation will now stop. This is probably due to a failed, or canceled download."
The user is running Win XP and likely ran the installer from a server location (ie did not copy it over to his machine before running it). He didn't stop any download or disconnect the network as the error may indicate.
Does anyone know the cause of this error and how to fix it?
If not, does anyone have a link to the exact versions of VCREDIST that are required for MCR7.15 installation? We would be fine with downloading them directly from MS and installing them before running the MCR installer. I just want to make sure we have the right VCREDIST versions are ther are vary many.
Thanks for your help,
Ernesto

Try these links:
Or this:
See if installing those in advance, will satisfy the MCR so it won't try to do it itself (and fail).

Installing the VCREDIST in advance resolved the issue, thanks!
Sorry for the slow reply, had to wait for user at remote site to try and report back.
