Is r2007b compatible with Mac OSX Mountain Lion 10.8.2?

To use a program called eyeseecam for my work we need to run matlab. We currently have r2007b installed. If I try to open it I receive this message

MATLAB cannot be opened because of a problem. Check with the developer to make sure MATLAB works with this version of OSX. You may need to reinstall the application. Be sure to install any available updates for the application and OSX.

Is it possible to run r2007b on 10.8.2 or do we need to upgrade MATLAB completely?

Note; I am not a programmer I am a researcher, any help described in layman's terms would be fantastic.
