Is there a possibility to model mechanical interactions between Simscape 1D and SimMechanics 2nd generation 3D models?

Problem arose because: Joints in SimMechanics 2nd generation can only be actuated by torque and you only can sense the motion.
Problem: I'd like to model the interactions between a power train and a simple link. The power train is actuated by torque and experiences friction, elasticity, damping and gearing ratios. The torque output then actuates the link in SimMechanics 2nd generation. Now, the problem is that there is no interaction of the link back to the power train.
Attempted approach: I could sense the motion and feed back to the power train. For a simple stationary model this works fine. But I am not able to really actuate the model and still keep the mechanical interaction between 1D-power train and 3D-link because the motor motion is not transfered.

You can use the Simscape Multibody Multiphysics Library on File Exchange.
This provides some interface blocks that connect the speed/torque in a Simscape Multibody joint to a Simscape network (e.g., a DC Motor). You will also find examples in that link above.
