Getting lat-lon data from a planar raster file

I have two rastar files in a planar projection (apparently UTM) and their associated tfw files. I want to join them together (one is directly nrth of the other) and then convert them to a single image. I also need to find the latitude and longitude limits of the map.
Is there any way to do this?
