This topic is a historical record of changes to MATLAB Answers. Notable system down times and unusable times may also be mentioned.

The change log will be kept in reverse chronological order, most recent change first.

The change logs will be mostly "as observed by the users".

This Answer will hold the MATLAB Answers change log, most recent change first.

This log is likely to be incomplete, especially so in its early stages.

• August 15, 2012 - fixed performance issue with contributors page; fixed JavaScript warnings in long questions
• July 18, 2012 - fixed selection bug in markup editor and bug causing incorrect calculation of contributors' accept rate
• July 7, 2012 - default silhouette is back.
• July 6, 2012 - Users without specific avatars used to show a default silhouette picture. Now they show as just a text link to their profile.
• June 28, 2012 - fixed sorting bugs reintroduced June 27, 2012
• June 27, 2012 - Multiple changes, summarized here
• May 23, 2012 - dashed line added above each Comment section
• October, 2011 - index of Questions now show date & time Question was updated
• September 21, 2011 - My Answers order is now newest to oldest
• June 28, 2011 - My Answers no longer lists Questions as well
• June 28, 2011 - My Answers now paged install of all at once; order is oldest to newest
• June 28, 2011 - lines that begin and end with a double-quote no longer trash input
• June 22, 2011 - My Answers listed Questions as well and sort order wrong (bug introduced)
• April 11, 2011 - index page added categories for questions
• April 11, 2011 - Comments are now searched
• April 11, 2011 - new search directives
• April 11, 2011 - search became AND, and sometimes singular/plurals are matched
• February 24, 2011 - Accept button moved away from Comment button
• February 24, 2011 - email notification of Answers added
• February 24, 2011 - Accepted Answer at top of Question now links to the Answer
• February 24, 2011 - Contributors page (with statistics) added
• after Feburary 8, 2011 - edited questions previously got listed in editor's profile page
• January 27, 2011 - RSS feed added
• Fall 2011 - order of Answers was stabilized
• May or June 2011 - search uses stemming, such as computes and computing both matching
• after April 11, 2011 - edited questions had been showing editor as owner

In late October the forum started noting editing of comments. Up until then it had noted only editing of questions of answers. However, unlike those, there in no link to jump to the comment that was edited, only a note as to who did the edit, so you are unsure which comment was edited.

October 27, 2013. Edit boxes for answers and comments can now be dragged out much taller than before.

October 29, 2013. Little logo added next to posts created by Mathworks employees to mark them as official "Authored by Mathworks" posts. These Questions cannot be deleted or edited by MATLAB Community Editors.

September 18, 2014. Changed way messages flagged as spam are handled. Added buttons to verify and delete as spam, or to say it's not spam.

• June 22, 2011 16:00 EDT to about 18:00 EDT - prepare for search improvements
• April 20, 2011 to April 21, 2011 - indexing failed

There were also planned service outages for corresponding to the feature improvements.

Oct. 27, 2013. This morning, requests for the main Answers page say "We're sorry, but something went wrong. We've been notified about this issue and we'll take a look at it shortly." However, it's possible to see some (not all) existing discussions through backdoors such as by using your username: http://www.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/answers/contributors/1343420-image-analyst/answers or usernames of others.
