temperature block in model based design of solar system

1 view (last 30 days)
i'm following the mode based design of solar system webinar.. i have one doubt in that.. in the simulation of solar cell for i-v and p-v curves, simulink model contain the block with the name CIRCUIT TEMPERATURE". what is that? what it contains? where can i get it in simulink library? pls pls pls pls help me to solve this issue.. thank you

Is the efficiency of the solar cell affected by the temperature?
In general, sometimes as temperatures increase, the probability of undesirable reactions increases until eventually the circuit becomes useless, whereas in other cases, higher temperatures push a higher fraction of molecules past the reaction potential barrier, leading to increases in efficiency. In electrical circuits, resistance increases with temperature.
I do not know if that model is taking these kinds of effects into account, but it might be. Try entering "room temperature" for the environment you expect the solar cell to be operating in. Are you modeling for Canadian winters (-20C or even lower), or for desert summers (+50C or even higher)?
