xPC target SimMechanics Solidworks (real-time rapid controller simulation) Virtual reality

3 views (last 30 days)
Hi everyone,
I m trying to design a real-time rapid controller prototype for a robotic hand project by solidworks-SimMechanics-xPC target.
I have the solidwork model imported to SimMechanics, now need to design the controller part (sensors/actuators/etc) and the rest.
  • I only have one PC, can I be able to make a simulation model with xPC in one computer? or Shall I use virtual reality? any comment would be appreciated.
Just want to design a controller as simple and fast as possible to visually see finger movement, and the hardware/electronics be easily fabricated after simulation.
Thank you all for your time,
Benjamin

Have you seen this example? For real-time testing on xPC Target you will need a machine that will run the real-time operating system provided by xPC Target and the application (your controller). That machine will need to have IO boards to get sensors measurements from the robot and send actuator requests to the robot. You will design a controller on your host machine, build an application, and download it to the target machine.
If you want to simulate your model on your host PC, you can use Simulink 3D Animation (virtual reality).
