Tag of Plot on GUI Dissapearing (Video of Problem Included)

I am attempting to include images into my GUI, but once I exit the matlab code, my images disappear. I discovered that the reason my images are disappearing is because the tags field of my plot axis are being deleted every time I exit the MATLAB window. If I type the tags back in, the images appear again, but how can I make the tags stay permanently. I am saving GUI figures, so what is going on?
