Difference Between Watershed Algorithms

I noticed that there are two files for watershed() in MATLAB watershed_meyer, and watershed_vs. I can't access either since they are mexw32 files.
What are the specific algorithm differences? I know that they are from two separate papers, but what are the differences in the way that the computations are performed?
