Is downloading with institutional email possible?

Hello My friends told me that after registering using our university's institutional email, they were able to download MatLab to use it directly on their computer. Unfortunately, I registered in the same way, but at the moment I can only use the software online (basic). I would like to know if using the institutional email it is really possible to download it to my computer.

We don't know what process your institute has for downloading MATLAB and activating it.
You should ask your friends what steps they followed to download MATLAB. If that does not work for you, contact the system administrator of your institute.

Visit https://www.mathworks.com/products/matlab/student.html and click on Get MATLAB in the Campus-Wide license area to the left. If your university has arranged a campus-wide license then that should help you register for it.
