How to set the parameters for customized directional control valve (moog-D661)
Show older comments
Hi am new to matlab simhydraulics i am trying to model an hydraulic system which has special kind of 5/3 directional valve which is not in the matlab libraries, i dont know how to customize and set parameters like (step response, frequency response and flowrate, valve pressure drop, so i need some help how can i do these things. It would be helpful for me if somebody helps me. Awaitng for replies.

Answer from 10+ years later, lol.
You may "manually" model any directional valves by using variable orifices and look-up tables. Here is an example:
The general idea is to use the LUTs to get the orifice areas as functions of the spool position. Such functions are not necessarily easy to get. However, if you have datasheet for the valve, you may use theparameter estimation workflow to figure out the best set of parameters to give you the behavior and performance described in the datasheet.
